In offering the only centralized, 24-hour domestic violence hotline in San Francisco, WOMAN, Inc. serves as a gateway for community resources and is frequently the first point of access for domestic violence survivors who seek social services.

On an annual basis, approximately 20,000 survivors and their children are provided with crisis counseling, options, advocacy, information and referrals for medical care, legal assistance, public benefits, employment, and domestic violence shelters. Additional crisis line coverage is provided to the two other domestic violence shelters in San Francisco during evening and weekend hours.

Through this arrangement and the maintenance of a weekday inventory of shelter-bed availability throughout the Bay Area, WOMAN, Inc. serves as a critical link to emergency shelter programs.
